James “Bill” Blaney

James “Bill” Blaney

James “Bill” Blaney was a Klansmen who was recruited into the Silver Dollar Group by the SDG’s leader, Raleigh Jackson “Red” Glover.

Blaney and two others were charged by a Louisiana State trooper for littering in 1970 after they were caught distributing Klan propaganda sheets demanding that white parents not send their children to school with Black children. He also was believed to be involved in the torching of a Black nightclub near Sicily Island in the late 1960s.

Blaney was the son-in-law of E.D. Morace, one of the leaders of the Ferriday Klan who was known as head “hatchet man.”
