Kenneth Norman Head

Kenneth Norman Head

Kenneth Norman Head was a member of the Silver Dollar Group Klan and a close friend of Raleigh Jackson “Red” Glover, head of the SDG.

Head was one of Glover’s early recruits in his Klan within a Klan. Head was involved in several wrecking crew projects and according to an informant – fellow Klansman E.D. Morace of Ferriday – Head in July 1964 along with Glover and Buck Horton kidnapped and killed Joseph Edwards, a 24-year-old porter at the Shamrock Motel in Vidalia, LA.

However, Morace was the only person to point the finger and Head, Glover and Horton.

Head was arrested by the Louisiana State Police in 1970 along with two other Klansmen. He and the others were caught distributing Klan propaganda sheets demanding that white parents not send their children to school with Black children. Head was charged with speeding, reckless driving, littering and attempting to outrun a pursuing police vehicle.

He was known to carry a carbine with a sawed-off 9-inch barrel.
